8192. Guy Palmes Sergeant at Law

This begins the Palmes of Lindley where our Shurick ancestry continues to follow this line splitting off from the Palmes of Naburn. Guy's son Brian Palmes, married Isabell Lindley, Esquire of Lindley in the county of York.

The first Palmes to hold office were Guy and Brian Palmes.

Guy was the youngest of the two sons. He was serjeant-at law during the time of Henry VII and Henry VIII. He was also a reader ( lawyer) of the Middle Temple, 19 Henry 7. He married Jane, daughter and heiress of John Drew Esq., of Bristow.

8198. Andrews Windsor 1st Baron of Windsor

Andrews Windsor, first Lord Windsor, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Andrews) Windsor, was made Knight of the Bath, June 23, 1509. In June 1513, he accompanied King Henry VIII to France and for his valor was made knight bannerat. On December 1, 1529 he was summoned to Parliament as Baron Windsor of Bradenham, Buchinghamshire and died in 1543. He married Elizabeth Blount and had George, who died without issue; William, from whom descended the Earls of Plymouth; Edmund and Thomas of Bentley.
